Patrick's Post Game Wrap
- July 15th, 2009
-Submitted by Mike Tollefson
Game Summary
The offense was limited to a mere six runs as Patrick’s was pummeled by
the Hewitt Farms team by a score of 23-6. The loss drops Patrick’s to one game below the .500 mark
with a single game remaining in the regular season.
Thus, Patrick’s will need to secure a win on July 22nd
in order to avoid a loosing record going into the year-end tournament.
In his last three games,
Chris Meyer has seen his on base percentage rise as he had reached safely
in 11 out of 12 plate appearances while recording a double and a triple.
His hot streak continued as he went 3 for 4 Wednesday night with a
double. However, the
performance of the night would be turned in by someone else, a little
later in the evening . . .
While most players went
home early (pansies), Mike Tollefson, Chris Meyer, and Gary Schmiesing
felt obligated to stay at Patrick’s awhile longer and continue to
support our team’s sponsor. While
surrounded by a throng of beautiful women, these three individuals
persevered into the far reaches of the night.
It was during this time that the Schmeze felt the desire to go
“old school” by joining the Queen of the world in karaoke with a
rousing rendition of Alice Cooper’s song Poison, much to the
delight of the crowd. It’s
veteran leadership like this that the team has come to expect over the
year’s from the Schmeze.
Key Stat
Sean
Mulcahey’s OBP dropped over .150 percentage points while batting in the
lead-off position, proving once again that only the most talented
individuals can handle this critical position in the batting order.
