Patrick's Post Game Wrap
- May 6th, 2009 Game Summary It was apparent in
Rocketman’s first plate appearance that he was in mid-season form when
his lazy fly ball found it’s home in the left center fielder’s glove.
“F-7!” went the familiar chant from the dugout.
However Rocket missed his mark in the 5th when a poorly
aimed shot split the left and right center fielders for a stand up double. Mike Tollefson scored the
first Patrick’s run of the game on a towering shot by Steve Guimond in
the third. The ball hit the
left fielder’s glove, then the top of the fence, eventually falling back
into the field of play for a double.
ESPN replays clearly showed that this ball had a chance of leaving
the park had the left fielder not interfered with it.
Geem hit this shot while wearing the number 44 jersey and after
displaying serious home run power in spring training, comparisons must be
made to the player who proudly wore that number for many years, left
handed hitter Tim Sullivan. Of course it was common knowledge that Sullivan generated his
power from channeling all of the rage in his life into his swing.
Could Geem have some rage issues?
He did spend the entire previous weekend with Rocketman . . . This week, the Minnesota
Vikings are once again attempting to sign future Hall of Fame quarterback
Brett Farve to help guide them to victory this year over his former team
and archrival, the Green Bay Packers.
Clearly the Vikings are taking a page out of the Patrick’s
Softball playbook who this year lured free agent Corey Horner away from
the Flame Bar team. Welcome
Corey! Key Stat |
