Patrick's Post Game Wrap -
May 28th, 2008
Game Summary
Patrick’s improved to 5-1 with a two-game sweep of IVESCO Wednesday
night. The first game was a four inning, 12-0 shutout led by the bottom
of the line-up (batters 6-11), who reached safely in 11 out of their 14
plate appearances.
The second game proved
to be much more competitive as the score remained close through out the
entire game. However, tight defense eventually allowed the Patrick’s
team to prevail with a 17-13 victory. In contrast, poor outfield play
by IVESCO allowed several key Patrick’s runs to score, including
“in the park” home runs by Bill Arthur and Mike Tollefson
which were the result of IVESCO fielding errors.
Key Stats
Several players saw their “on base percentage” rise with stellar
performances at the plate this week including:
Jamie Williamson- 7 for 8
Steve Guimond- 6 for 8
Tom Lippert- 5 for 7 with two HR
Sean Mulcahey- 5 for 6
Chaun Cox- 5 for 6
Bill Arthur- 4 for 6
Last week, I suggested
that a phenomenon similar to the "SI Curse" may have affected
the team’s run production. It has become obvious that a Post Game
Wrap curse now exists as Eric Madsen went 0 for 8 this week (3 for 8 on
base percentage) following his glowing review in last weeks PGW. Thus,
all players listed above can expect to “tank” next week (you’re
welcome).
