Gentlemen,
The distinguished alumni of FarmHouse Fraternity, which make up the softball team known as Patrick's on Third, do cordially invite/challenge the members of the current Spring Cup Game Team to a softball game. We anticipate the event being held in St. Peter, MN with the date and time to be decided upon by the active chapter (preferably, but not necessarily before Spring Cup Game). Patrick's will reserve the fields and necessary facilities (we are planning on grilling afterwards).
Our purpose in doing this is three-fold. First, we as alumni remember days when FarmHouse held the Cup for years at a time and it was a foregone conclusion that FarmHouse would win Spring Cup Game. We still take a great deal of pride in our association with Farmhouse and it's reputation, both on campus and beyond, and we want to show our support for the house and the team in any way possible.
Secondly, we see this as an annual event that could be used as a rush event. As a former Vice President of FarmHouse, I appreciate the challenges involved with rushing quality candidates for pledging. A softball game might be the perfect way for interested men to get to know some of the members of the house.
Finally, this could be an obvious and highly successful way of improving alumni relations. There are over a dozen former executive officers of FarmHouse that have played for Patrick's at some point in the last year. It seems reasonable that there are things that could be gained from associating with this much FarmHouse experience, even if it is just a for good story and a laugh.
FarmHouse has done more than bring a softball team together in St. Peter, it has kept a group of friends together. This is our offer to give back to FarmHouse. We look forward to your response.
